MIDEAST-PALESTINIAN-ISRAEL-GAZA-FUNERAL
The mother (L) of Bashir Abu Daher, 14-years-old, weeps over his body during his funeral , 26 July 2006, in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Daher was killed from rocket fired by an Israeli tank late last night, killing the boy and injuring his father and his 10-year-old sister. Twelve Palestinians, including a toddler, were killed today as Israel pounded Gaza with air strikes and spearheaded a fresh incursion, one day after president Mahmud Abbas demanded a ceasefire.
Nearly 130 Palestinians have now been killed in Israel's offensive in Gaza, increasingly sidelined as the world focuses on a deadlier conflict in Lebanon but waged in order to recover a captured soldier and stop rocket attacks. AFP PHOTO/SAID KHATIB
