MIDEAST-PALESTINIAN-ISRAEL-GAZA-FUNERAL
The body of three day-old Palestinian Shahed Sheikh al-Aid is carried by her mother during the child's funeral 04 August 2006 in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The infant died when her mother dropped her when they were running from Israeli shelling in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army has been carrying out operations in the Gaza Strip since June 28 to recover an Israeli soldier seized by Palestinian armed groups three days earlier in a cross-border raid and to end the firing of homemade rockets from the strip onto Israeli territory.
