NETHERLANDS-MEDIA-INDUSTRY-COMPANY-EARNINGS-ELSEVIER
Gerard van de Aast, head of Reed Elsevier Business, gives a press conference 27 July 2006 in Amsterdam to present the company's results. The Anglo-dutch publishing group Reed Elsevier unveiled today a 61 percent leap in first-half net profit and reiterated a forecast for full-year growth of 5.0 percent. Reed's net profit reached 318 million euros (405 million dollars), up from 197 million in the first half of 2005.
