EL SALVADOR-IRAQ-TROOPS
Salvadorean President Elias Antonio Saca (C) hands the national flag to Colonel Joaquin Roberto Galvez (R) at the Artillery Brigade in San Juan Opico, El Salvador, 43 km west of the capital, 11 August 2006 during the farewell ceremony to the VII Cuscatlan Batallion before their trip to Iraq, as part of a multinational force working in humanitarian operations. A seventh contingent of 380 soldiers will be deployed to Iraq to relieve a previous group stationed in Al-Kut. El Salvador is the only Latin American country with troops still in Iraq.
