CHILE-STRIKE-ESCONDIDA MINE
A worker of Minera Escondida, the world's largest copper mine, votes in Antofagasta, 1200 km north of Santiago, Chile, 21 August 2006. Unionized workers continue on strike Monday after rejecting a settlement offer from the site's majority owners, Anglo-Australian mining giant BHP Billiton late Sunday. The mine's 2,052 unionized workers, representing 97 percent of the workforce, went on strike on August 7 over a wage dispute. AFP PHOTO/Martin BERNETTI
