A huge poster of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah bearing the slogan "The weapons of the resistance is the pride of the Arab Nations," hangs above a woman standing on her balcony in a Beirut street, 20 November 2006. Hanging along the facades of buildings, dangling from balconies or flying across the streets, the pictures of political leaders - some alive, others who have been assassinated - swarm the Lebanese capital in a fierce war of words, only tamed by the colours of national flags on the eve of the country's Independence Day.
