LEBANON-POLITICS-POSTERS
TO GO WITH STORY BY MARWAN NAAMANI
A poster picturing Lebanese Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah (L) and Shiite Amal leader and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri hangs in front of an image of late Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri in a Beirut street, 20 November 2006. Hanging along the facades of buildings, dangling from balconies or flying across the streets, the pictures of political leaders - some alive, others who have been assassinated - swarm the Lebanese capital in a fierce war of words, only tamed by the colours of national flags on the eve of the country's Independence Day. Poster reads, "Their [Israel's] might is under your [the resistance's] feet", in reference to Hezbollah's perceived "defeat" of Israel during this summer's 34-day offensive.
