SPACE-CURRENT SOLAR IMAGE

This 23 February NASA Solar and Heliospheric image of the Sun shows Sunspot 564. The rapidly growing Sunspot 564 was nearly invisible two days ago and now it is wider than five planet Earths. The sunspot poses a threat for M-class solar flares, medium-sized flares that generally cause brief radio blackouts that affect Earth-s polar regions. Minor radiation storms sometimes follow an M-class flare. AFP PHOTO/NASA
