SPACE-CURRENT SOLAR IMAGE
This 25 February, 2004 NASA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory image shows Sunspot 564 (Top). The giant sunspot stretches more than half-a-dozen Earth diameters from end to end and poses a threat for M-class solar flares, medium-sized flares that can cause brief radio blackouts that affect Earth-s polar regions.
