GUINEA-POLITICS-UNREST-PARLIAMENT
Rabiatou Serah Diallo, secretary general of the National Workers Confederation of Guinea shakes hands after announcing at the National Assembly of Conakry 23 February 2007 that the unionists were "satisfied" with the lifting of the martial law period, that had just been voted by the parliament. Diallo cautioned that the lifting of the unlimited strike was conditional upon the naming of a new prime minister. President Lansana Conte slapped the stringent emergency rule, involving a 12-hour curfewon February 12, after his choice of a new prime minister, Eugene Camara, closely aligned to him, sparked a new wave violent protests.
