MIDEAST-PALESTINIAN-ISRAEL-SETTLERS
A Palestinian man is turned away from reaching his home as closure in put into place by the Israeli military to allow Jewish settlers to walk through a Palestinian neighborhood of the divided West Bank town of Hebron to visit a religious site 04 April 2007. Under an accord with the Palestinian Authority in 1997, Israel withdrew from most of Hebron but kept troops around several enclaves in the city centre where 600 hardline settlers live under heavy army protection. Friction between the radical settlers and the 166,000 Palestinians they live among occurs on a near daily basis. AFP PHOTO/HAZEM BADER
