GULF-US-IRAN-IRAQ-MILITARY
A picture released by the US Navy 22 May 2007 shows nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) transiting alongside Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) in the Gulf. The USS John C. Stennis and USS Nimitz aircraft carriers and their strike groups entered Gulf waters 23 May 2007 to support troops in Iraq and conduct training exercises, the US Navy said.
