TO GO WITH AUSTRALIA-ABORIGINES-SCHED-FEATURE by Neil Sands
This picture taken 17 May, 2007 shows Aboriginal elder Stanly George folding his hands as he sits in front of his house at Aboriginal camp Nyewente (Trucking Yards) at Australia's "red centre" Alice Springs. After 40 years of landmark vote, when Aborigines were recognised as full Australian citizens for the first time, indiginous communities are still off the map marked as either blank or parkland.
