TO GO WITH AUSTRALIA-ABORIGINES-SCHED-FEATURE by Neil Sands
This picture taken 19 May, 2007 shows Aboriginal elders George Robertson (L), Toby Gara (C) and Brenda Maxwell (R) playing cards near their house in Hopy's town camp at Alice Springs. After 40 years of landmark vote, when Aborigines were recognised as full Australian citizens for the first time, indiginous communities are still off the map marked as either blank or parkland.
