GERMANY-G8-SUMMIT-PROTEST
Anti-globalisation have set up statues featuring starving people on a boat 05 June 2007 in Rostock, northeastern Germany, one day ahead of the start of the G8 summit in Heiligendamm. While leaders of rich nations will gather for the G8 summit a few kilometres (miles) away anti-globalisation protesters are staging their own parallel meeting. They attack the G8 summit at Heilingendamm near Rostock as a "grand public relations show" and have invited some 1,500 participants and 40 bodies such as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and trade unions, in particular from Africa and Asia.
