FILES - This combo of file pictures shows German member of the resistance Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg (L, undated) and US actor Tom Cruise (R, 08 January 2004 in Madrid). Tom Cruise received backing on 10 July 2007 for his contested plans to play the mastermind behind a daring bid to assassinate Adolf Hitler from one of the real-life hero's fellow conspirators. Philipp Freiherr von Boeselager, 89, told German newspaper Bild that the uproar in Germany over the Hollywood star's affiliation with the Church of Scientology in no way disqualified him to play Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg.
