FILES-US-GERMANY-WWII-STAUFFENBERG-CRUISE
FILES - This combo of file pictures shows German member of the resistance Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg (L, undated) and US actor Tom Cruise (R, 08 January 2004 in Madrid). The German government has had a change of heart and said on 14 September 2007 it would allow the makers of a Tom Cruise film about a failed plot to kill Hitler to use the site where the conspirators were executed. In "Valkyrie", the Hollywood superstar plays plot leader Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg, who along with fellow plotters was put to death in the Bendlerblock in Berlin, a courtyard which today is used by the defence ministry and is a national shrine.
