An Indian villager reaches towards Congress Party leader Sonia Gandhi during her brief interaction with flood affected villagers at a camp in Samastipur, some 160 kms north of Patna, 07 August 2007. Gandhi was on a day visit to the flood-hit north eastern state of Assam and the northern state of Bihar. Among the millions of people forced from their homes by floods across South Asia many were desperate for food and drinking water, with India's Bihar state the worst hit.
