The kitchen of Wahida Nissan's(2nd-R) home in Sterling Heights, Michigan is bustling after her 2 brothers and their families moved in after arriving in the United States from Turkey where he and his family spent 5 years as refugees after fleeing Iraq. The Nissans are among 83 Iraqi refugees who arrived in the Detroit area last month as part of a promised surge aimed at bringing 7,000 of the estimated 4.2 million people displaced by the war in Iraq to the United States.
