FILES-US-GERMANY-WWII-STAUFFENBERG-CRUISE
FILES - Picture taken 19 August 2007 shows cameramen preparing a scene during the shooting of the film "Valkyrie" in front of Berlin’s Ministry of Finance, the former Reich Air Ministry. The German government has had a change of heart and said on 14 September 2007 it would allow the makers of a Tom Cruise film about a failed plot to kill Hitler to use the site where the conspirators were executed. In "Valkyrie", the Hollywood superstar plays plot leader Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg, who along with fellow plotters was put to death in the Bendlerblock in Berlin, a courtyard which today is used by the defence ministry and is a national shrine.
