Firefighters mop-up damage at an expensive beach-front home as high winds push a wildfire toward other multi-million dollar properties, many owned by celebrities 21 October 2007 in Malibu, California. At least three homes and businesses have burned so far. The arrival of Santa Ana Winds is bringing gusts of 60- to 80-miles per hour in Malibu and up to 108 miles per hour on a peak near one of the fires that broke out in Los Angeles County Sunday morning. Fire conditions are particularly dangerous this year because the driest season since records began 130 years ago has taken most of the moisture from the Chaparral habitat that covers much of southern California.
