(FILES) A file photo taken 28 February 1968 shows a still from the movie "Pippi Longstocking" with Inger Nilsson as Pippi vith her friend, the ape Mr. Nilsson. Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren, who would have been 100 14 November 2007, still enjoys worldwide success with her children's books, which like her most famous character Pippi Longstocking do not seem to have aged a bit. Born 14 November 1907 in the southeastern Swedish town of Vimmerby, the writer revolutionized the world of children's books with such beloved characters as Emil of Maple Hill, Madicken, Karlsson-on-the Roof and Ronia the Robber's Daughter.
