VENEZUELA-COLOMBIA-FARC-HOSTAGES
A man rides his motorcycle in front of the entrance to the hato --a Venezuelan cattle farm-- "Corocito", which belongs to Venezuelan former Interior minister Ramon Rodriguez Chacin, who in many occasions officiated as a mediator between president Hugo Chavez and the Colombian FARC rebels, in Barinas 23 December, 2007. Last Tuesday the FARC announced they would free hostage Clara Rojas, along with her son Emmanuel, who was born in captivity to her and a rebel father, and lawmaker Consuelo Gonzalez de Perdomo. FARC said they will turn the three hostages over to Chavez, who had been officially negotiating a release or swap until Colombian president Alvaro Uribe stopped those talks amid accusations Chavez broke protocol.
