Greek Cypriot National Guard stand next to the coffins containing the remains of 10 Greek soldiers killed during the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, during a handover ceremony in Nicosia on February 5, 2008. The Greek side of the divided east Mediterranean island held a solemn sendoff today for the bodies of the soldiers as they were finally returned home after a major forensic operation. The soldiers were among 100 Greek troops killed in action when Turkish forces seized Cyprus's northern third in response to an Athens-engineered coup seeking to unite the island with Greece.
