(From L) Borje Ekholm, CEO of Investor, Martin Winterkorn, CEO of Volkswagen and Hans Dieter Poetsch, chairman of Volkswagen, arrive at a news conference in Stockholm on March 03, 2008. Volkswagen AG said today it will become the biggest shareholder of Swedish truck maker Scania, paying at least 17.6 billion kronor (#1.88 billion; US$2.85 billion) in a move that could clear the road for new talks about merging it with German truck builder MAN AG. The Wolfsburg-based automaker, Europe's biggest in terms of sales, said it had agreed with Scania shareholders Investor AB and the Wallenberg foundations to buy their combined 134.7 million A-shares of Scania.
