NORWAY-ARCTIC-POLAR-BEAR
TO GO WITH AFP STORY by Pierre-Henry Deshayes "Norvège-Arctique-société-animaux-ours"
Dead seals are pictured hanging on a rack to feed sled dogs outside the arctic town of Longyearbyen, on February 25, 2008 in Norway. In the Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic there are more polar bears than people, and while the two species live side-by-side in peace most of the time, there are occasionally fatal encounters. Polar bear are attracted to the smeel of dead seals. AFP PHOTO / DANIEL SANNUM LAUTEN
