HAITI-UNREST-FIRE
Haitian police attempt to put out a fire started by protesters on April 7t 2008 in Port-au-Prince. One person was shot dead Monday in Haiti amid renewed protests against rising prices and poverty, witnesses told AFP. The person was killed by shots from unknown sources in Cayes, the country's third most populous city 190 kilometers (118 miles) south of Port-Au-Prince, local TV station director Wenchell Jean-Baptiste said. Barricades of burning tires were laid down in Cayes on the fifth day of protests in the city. Protests were also underway in Port-au-Prince, with hundreds of people massed before parliament and the palace where the office of the president is located. AFP PHOTO Thony BELIZAIRE
