ULSTER-GOOD-FRIDAY-AGREEMENT-ANNIVERSARY
(FILES) File picture of Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams (L) and then former IRA member who became Northern Ireland deputy first minister Martin McGuinness (R) showing on April 10, 1998 the strain of the all night and all day negotiations at Stormont, near Belfast, after a historic peace agreement was finally reached by the parties at the Northern Ireland peace talks, 17 hours after the midnight deadline. The Good Friday Agreement signed 10 years ago, was approved by a referendum. The agreement was promoted to the nationalist community as delivering civil rights, inclusive government, recognition of their Irishness, and a peaceful route to Irish reunification.
