GERMANY-AIRPORT-TEMPELHOF-REFERENDUM-FILES
(FILES) - Picture taken on November 9, 2006 shows a schedule board at Berlin's Tempelhof airport. The airport, originally built in 1923, was redeveloped under Nazi rule into its present form. The terminal was built between 1936 and 1941, serving the US Air Force during the Berlin blockade of 1948-49. The airport is expected to be closed down in 2007. Berliners go to the polls on April 28, 2008 to vote in a referendum on plans to save the German capital's historic Tempelhof airport, the hub of the Berlin airlift, from closure in October.
