Mozambic nationals wait on May 23, 2008, outside Primrose police station on the outskirt of Johannesburg for buses to take them back to Mozambique after foreign Africans were chased out of informal settlements in a spate of xenophobic incidents. Over 40 people have been killed, more than 500 arrested and more than 17,000 displaced by a wave of anti-immigrant attacks on foreigners who locals accuse of committing crime and taking away employment opportunities.
