Foreign nationals queue on May 24, 2008 to receive a loaf of bread each distributed by the South African Red Cross Society at Durban's Cato Manor Police station after foreign Africans were chased out of informal settlements in a spate of xenophobic incidents. Over 42 people have been killed, more than 600 arrested and more than 20,000 displaced by a wave of anti-immigrant attacks on foreigners who locals accuse of committing crime and taking away employment opportunities.
