(FILE) The top commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Pedro Antonio Marin, better known as "Manuel Marulanda" or "Tirofijo", holds a meeting with an international delegation on March 8, 2001 in Los Pozos, Colombia. The Colombian Defense Minister announced in an official statement on May 24, 2008 in Bogota that 'Manuel Marulanda' was dead. Marulanda died March 26, and his replacement as FARC leader will be Alfonso Cano, seen as the group's ideological leader, an army spokesman said. AFP PHOTO/Rodrigo Arangua
