FILES-COLOMBIA-FARC-MARULANDA-DEATH
(FILE) The top commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Pedro Antonio Marin, better known as "Manuel Marulanda" or "Tirofijo", covers his head with a towel while he waits for the arrival of Colombian (then) President Andres Pastrana to hold a peace dialogue in Los Pozos, Caqueta, Colombia, on February 9, 2001. The Colombian Defense Minister announced in an official statement on May 24, 2008 in Bogota that 'Manuel Marulanda' was dead. Marulanda died March 26, and his replacement as FARC leader will be Alfonso Cano, seen as the group's ideological leader, an army spokesman said. AFP PHOTO/Luis Acosta
