BULGARIA-ARCHAEOLOGY-THRACIAN-MOUND-CARRIAGE
A general view shows a Thracian tomb at a dig led by Bulgarian archaeologist Daniela Agre (not pictured), whose team unearthed a fully-preserved horse-drawn carriage from a Thracian mound in the village of Borisovo near the town of Elhovo some 360 km south-east from the capital Sofia on August 7, 2008. The unique carriage together with other artifacts were buried some 1,900 years ago along with an unknown wealthy Thracian nobleman. The Thracians were a powerful people who inhabited this region from the fourth millennium BC, and were famous as goldsmiths. AFP PHOTO / BORYANA KATSAROVA
