BULGARIA-ARCHAEOLOGY-THRACIAN-MOUND-CARRIAGE
Bulgarian lead archaeologist Daniela Agre poses on August 7, 2008 near the unearthed and fully-preserved horse-drawn carriage found in a Thracian tomb. Agre's team unearthed a fully-preserved horse-drawn carriage from a Thracian mound in the village of Borisovo near the town of Elhovo some 360 km south-east from the capital Sofia . The unique carriage together with other artifacts were buried some 1,900 years ago along with an unknown wealthy Thracian nobleman. The Thracians were a powerful people who inhabited this region from the fourth millennium BC, and were famous as goldsmiths. AFP PHOTO / BORYANA KATSAROVA
