IRAQ-US-SAHWA
Shiite Muslim Sahwa member Abu Ahmed al-Sudani (C) in charge of the Sabaa al-Bor area north of Baghdad sits with Sunni Muslim Sahwa members during a meeting in Baghdad's secure 'Green Zone' on September 11 2008. The meeting headed by Mohammed Salman the chairman of the Committee for the Implementation of National Reconciliation, along with several high ranking Iraqi Army officers and members of the Sahwa (Awakening) -- whose armed members are former insurgents recruited to fight Al-Qaeda in Iraq and paid by the US military-, was held to discuss the issue of salaries to the Sahwa.
