FRANCE-EDUCATION-PROTEST
People demonstrate holding banners denuncing governmental policies on November 20, 2008 in Saint-Denis de la Reunion, on the French oversea territory of La Reunion, on a national teachers' striking day. Teachers demonstrate today as close to 20,000 jobs were slashed in 2007 and 2008 under President Nicolas Sarkozy's plan to trim the civil service by not replacing many of the retiring employees.
