GHANA-VOTE
Soldiers block the route to the headquarters of the Electoral Commission in Accra from supporters of the National Democratic Congress opposition candidate John Atta-Mills as they gathered to hear the results of the presidential election on December 30, 2008. With 200 of the 230 constituencies counted, the commission said Atta-Mills of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had 52.17 percent of the ballots against 47.9 percent for Nana Akufo-Addo of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
