(FILES) A picture taken on March 1, 1987 in Paris, shows French fashion designer Ted Lapidus, Russian-born, 79, whose career soared in the 1960s and 1970s with the unisex and safari look. Lapidus who suffered for several years from leukemia, died on December 29, 2008, in a hospital in Cannes on the French Rivera, his family said.
