NEW YORK - JANUARY 09: A Marines stands at attention during the funeral of Marine Lance Cpl. Alberto Francesconi, 21, on January 9, 2009 in the Bronx borough of New York City. Francesconi was the first American casualty this year in Afghanistan announced by the Department of Defense, killed on New Year's Day during combat in the southern Helmand province of the troubled country.
