NEW YORK - JANUARY 09: Minerva Negron, mother of slain Marine Lance Cpl. Alberto Francesconi, 21, follows his casket during his funeral on January 9, 2009 in the Bronx borough of New York City. Francesconi was the first American casualty this year in Afghanistan announced by the Department of Defense, killed on New Year's Day during combat in the southern Helmand province of the troubled country.
