TO GO WITH AFP STOY BY ELISA SANTAFE "SPAIN-REGIONS-BASQUES-POLITICS-VOTE-ETA-TRANSPORT"
View taken on February 17, 2009 of the construction works for the high speed train TAV near the northern Spanish Basque village of Aramaio. The armed separatist group ETA declared in 2007 the high speed train as a target. Regional elections are scheduled for March 1 in the Basque region with polls are predicting a setback for the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV), which has been in power since 1980, largely in coalition with other smaller parties.
