Asier Agirre, mayor of the northern Spanish Basque village of Aramaio, shows the area affected by the construction work of the high speed train TAV on February 17, 2009 in Aramaio. The armed separatist group ETA declared in 2007 the high speed train as a target. Regional elections are scheduled for March 1 in the Basque region with polls are predicting a setback for the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV), which has been in power since 1980, largely in coalition with other smaller parties.
