FRANCE-CULTURE-THEATRE-FESTIVAL-AVIGNON
Lebanese-Canadian writer and director Wajdi Mouawad attends on March 18, 2009 in Avignon, southern France, a press conference to launch the 63rd edition of the Avignon international theatre festival to be held from July 7 until July 29, 2009. Mouawad, after having presented two of his plays at the Festival: Littoral in 1999 and Seuls in 2008, is this year the associated artist. Since 2007 Mouawad has been the artistic director of the French Theatre at Ottawa?s National Centre for the Arts.
