FILES-EQUESTRIANISM-UAE-DOPING-MAKTOUM
(FILES)-- File picture dated March 29, 2008 shows the Untied Arab Emirates' prime minister and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum (L) with his wife Princess Haya Bint al-Hussein upon their arrival at Nad al-Sheba race track in the Gulf emirate to attend the 2008 Dubai World Cup in horse racing. Sheikh Mohammed - one of the dominant personalities on the thoroughbred racing circuit as well as in endurance racing - was provisionally suspended by the International Equestrian Federation on April 7, 2009 because one of his horses had failed a dope test it was revealed by a spokesman for the federation. His wife - daughter of the late King Hussein of Jordan - is president of the federation but she will distance herself from the case to avoid a conflict of interests and the matter will be handled instead by federation director, New-Zealand's Chris Hodgson.
