Israeli protesters hold placards calling to free Jonathan Pollard, an American Jew who was jailed for life in the US for spying for Israel, 16 November 2003 during a protest for his release and against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's utter abandonment of an Israeli agent in peril. The demo was held outside the US united Jewish communities' general assembly in Jerusalem while Prime Minister Sharon was speaking. A US federal judge on Thursday rejected a request by Pollard, to re-open his case and reconsider the terms of sentence. AFP PHOTO/Gali TIBBON
