ITALY-MAFIA-ARREST
Italian carabinieri police escort mafia boss Carmine Russo (C) one of the Russo brothers, the country's most wanted fugitives, after he was arrested early on November 1, 2009 in Baiano, Naples region of Italy. Russo, a fugitive from the law since 2007 was arrested with his brother Pasquale Russo, on the run since 1993, convicted several times for murder and for association with the mafia. The Russo brothers had reorganised the structure of Naples' Camorra mafia in the early 1990s after the boss of the region, Carmine Alfieri, turned and cooperated with the authorities, and the Russos "exercised absolute control over their territory", police said.
