US stocks ticked upward April 5, 2010 as traders returning from the long Easter weekend reacted to Friday's labor report showing the biggest job growth in three years in March amid recovery from recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 4.83 points (0.04 percent) to 10,931.90 in early trades, extending Thursday's solid gains. The tech-rich Nasdaq composite climbed 6.68 points (0.28 percent) to 2,409.26 and the broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 2.01 points (0.17 percent) at 1,180.11.
