GERMANY-RUSSIA-POLAND-PLANE-ACCIDENT
(FILES) -- A file photo taken on April 4, 2009 in Kehl shows (from L, front) NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, Polish President Lech Kaczynski, US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel approaching the Passerelle Mimram pedestrian bridge which connects Kehl, Germany to Strasbourg, France during the NATO summit. Scores of people were killed on April 10, 2010 when a plane carrying Polish President Lech Kaczynski crashed on landing near the western Russian city of Smolensk, Russian news agencies reported. Two Russian news agencies quoted emergency officials as saying that 87 people were killed in the crash of the Russian-built Tupolev 154 passenger plane. The fate of Kaczynski himself was not immediately known. AFP PHOTO/Mandel NGAN
