CORRECTION-AUSTRALIA-CHINA-SHIPPING-ENVIRONMENT
CORRECTING DATE TAKEN
Handout photo taken and released by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority on April 14, 2010 shows a diver inspecting the Douglas Shoals area of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, damaged by the Chinese bulk coal-carrying ship 'Sheng Neng 1' which ran aground on April 3, 2010. Leaked oil from a Chinese ship which spent nine days grounded on the Great Barrier Reef has washed up at an important animal sanctuary, officials said. Clean-up crews and environmental experts headed to North West Island, a haven for seabirds and turtles, where clumps of oil have spread over about one kilometre (half-a-mile) of beach, marine safety authorities said.
